Washington, D.C. during the 2009 Inauguration of President Barack Obama was amazing! What a special time to be able to bless a city. Tiny doves were placed obscurely in nature, at major historical markers, and randomly with personal belongings. It was a fun adventure while being followed by the Rocky Mountain News reporter and cameraman. See article in Press Release section of this website. This trip was different from previous ones. There were so many people and such a high spirit of “hope” in the air. It would seem that the tiny little doves would be lost in the crowds, but I pray that each and every one of them that was left gets discovered by just the right person to treasure it and be reminded of the message of hope. The news article did not bring in new stories to the website, but it did bring in some volunteers. Little by little I believe the project will grow to take on a life of its own. I’ll be off to Portland, Oregon in April for the next Blessing Doves placement.
